Who Am I?

I'm Jody. I was Diagnosed with Lupus in 1992, the autoimmune disease attacked my kidneys, requiring dialysis and a kidney transplant in 2002. In 2009, my body developed antibodies against the new kidney, and I had a second transplant. Despite a healthy lifestyle, and medical compliance, my kidney is failing again.

My Interests:

Travel, poker, socializing, eating out.

My Diagnosis:

Kidney failure. I am not eligible for a paired kidney or a deceased donor kidney. I must have a living donor.

How A Kidney Transplant Will Affect My Life:

My health challenges, besides the kidneys, have been numerous, yet I have been able to manage through the years, working and appreciating life. My kidney function has reached a scary low. Your sympathy and understanding regarding my situation is all that stands between me and a lifetime of dialysis. A person only needs one kidney to live a full life.

The matching process can take some time and my need is immediate. If you choose to register as a live donor or know someone who is willing to be my donor, please contact the locations below.

The donor procedure is uncomplicated and usually laparoscopic with a two-day expected hospital stay. Also, my insurance pays for all donor medical, transportation and lodging costs if it is necessary for you to travel to get to one of these locations for the surgery.

If you can be my donor that would be great, but if not please share this message with your network. I am hoping to get as many live donors tested to match me as possible. Dialysis is coming soon. It is a treatment, but not a long-term, viable option.

Thanks for reading and for your consideration!
