Who Am I?
I was born in New York City on the same day as Derek Jeter, June 26, 1974. I was born with Down Syndrome and graduated from Tappan Zee High School’s Special Education Program. I am very outgoing and enjoy meeting people and volunteering for projects such as Meals on Wheels. A fall on my back severely damaged my kidneys and is preventing me from pursuing my many activities. In July 2016, I moved to Oldsmar Florida with my parents.
My Interests:
I am very active in my church and was an honorary deacon in my church in NJ. I read and study the Bible with my Dad and attend Bible Study Fellowship for Men. We attend Word of Life (WOL) mission camp programs where I met many speakers and missionaries with whom I have maintained active communications and offer prayers of encouragement with them. I enjoy bowling, swimming, cooking, reading and cheering for the Yankees. My Dad and I work out at our local club gym three times a week and I love playing golf where I join my parents on the green to putt.
My Diagnosis:
My kidney function continues to decrease; therefore, I am preparing to begin peritoneum dialysis and am registered on the Tampa General Hospital transplant list.
How A Kidney Transplant Will Affect My Life:
A transplant will improve my quality of life and allow me to continue my ministry of prayers and emails for those ministering at WOL camps in the US and around the world and ensure I can resume the sports and activities that I enjoy.
