Who Am I?

Hello! My name is Yelena Gass-Bronstein. I’m a mother and a wife, and I live in St. Louis, MO. I have End-Stage Kidney Disease, and I am in desperate need of a kidney. My family and I immigrated from Ukraine in 1991, to be able to provide a better life for our daughter. I felt so welcomed when we moved to the United States, and was so proud to become an American Citizen in 1996.

I devoted my entire professional life to working as a Registered Nurse in the hospital setting, including serving in the front-line during COVID. I feel honored to have been able to help so many people through some of their most difficult times. I am extremely blessed to live in the U.S., where I have access to the best healthcare in the world! I received a second chance for a better life by moving to the U.S. Now I am begging for a second chance at LIFE itself, to stay ALIVE, so that I can continue to be a loving wife and mother, and the glue that holds our family together.

I am asking for your help, as I urgently need a kidney! It takes an extraordinarily special person to save another person’s life! Please consider being my kidney donor, and giving me the Gift of Life!

If you are not a compatible match for Yelena (e.g., you do not match her "A" blood type), you can still donate a kidney to Yelena by participating in UNOS (United Network of Organ Sharing) - Kidney Paired Donation program, offered by her transplant hospital. In a Kidney Paired Donation, the living donors for recipients are swapped so each recipient receives a compatible kidney.
