Who Am I?
I am a retired IT technician and a father. I have three grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way!
My Interests:
I enjoy traveling when I can and spending time with my wonderful wife and family. I like hard rock and scary movies. I used to love fixing up homes and doing yard work when I was able to.
My Diagnosis:
I was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney disease in 2015. At that point very little was known about the disease. In fact I remember my first nephrologist saying just watch your diet and if anything changes let me know. No further appointments needed! Was I in for a surprise. Recently I progressed to stage 5 or ESRD and was told dialysis will be soon. I went from a hard working individual to someone who wakes up ice cold to the touch. My feet feel like my socks are all scrunched up (even when I'm not wearing any). My hands keep going numb, I drop stuff. My body is hardly making any more red blood cells which results in breathlessness and gasping for air. I have no energy.
How A Kidney Transplant Will Affect My Life:
Kidney disease has caused me to lose my lust for life. I would love for the chance to feel alive again and be able to run and have fun. It would also be great to not have to hide the way I really feel inside. Another chance at living would be so awesome.
My Blood Type: O
